GLASGOW FORT, GLASGOW

- RETAIL DESIGN
- BRAND IDENTITY

Reinventing a high street stalwart.

Fort News have been trading at Glasgow Fort for nearly 20 years, during this time they have developed a loyal local customer base. Working alongside the tenant, retail agent and landlord we created a modern, minimal and progressive design concept that allows the product to stand proud on the shelves.

Due to the huge variety of colourful product lines, we chose a simple colour palette with neutral finishes alongside a linear design aesthetic that helped to form a clear line of site throughout the store, allowing customers to navigate easily to their chosen products.

Each product type is zoned with high level signage on a dark green slatted bulk head. A striking linear lighting plan echoes the timber slat used on the counters and shelving design. A monochrome patterned floor tile and ceiling light box feature was used to define the pay station and impulse purchase area.

We selected type influenced by old school broadsheet newspapers, along with a simple strap line, all in black and white again inspired by traditional newspaper print.
