RD Designer Wear

GLASGOW FORT

- RETAIL INTERIOR DESIGN
- BRAND DESIGN

RD Designer Wear is a family-run business based in East Kilbride, built over generations with a loyal, equally long-standing customer base.

Like many established retailers, they had gradually lost sight of their brand identity. When we met with the father-and-son team behind the business, they both recognised the need for change—starting with relocating to a busier, more dynamic location.

We helped refine their business proposition, beginning with a rebrand. The original name, Retro, carried connotations of mod, vintage, and 70s fashion. By evolving the name to RD Designer Wear, we retained brand recognition while signalling a more contemporary, premium offering.

The interior design of the new store reflects this shift, taking cues from a modern masculine aesthetic. A minimal, clean palette of raw brick, concrete, and timber sets the tone. Linear pathways guide customers effortlessly through the space—an approach echoed in the central cash desk and denim display, which feature a custom timber slat and shelving system.

Architecturally, modular display units, magnetic tension fabric lightboxes, and a staggered wall display system reinforce the clean, structured design intent—creating a retail experience that feels both elevated and intuitive.
