McArthurGlen Designer Outlet appointed us to rebrand and reposition an independent trader in their Swindon location.

The brief was open and the client had no real brand presence but what he did have was a fantastic craftsmanship that wasn’t present in his current retail unit and brand. We capitalised on the customer experience, where you can select your leather, buckle and The Belt Maker then crafts these into a handmade belt for you. We renamed ‘World Belts’ into ‘Greens The Belt Maker’ using the clients name with typographic style that hinted at the heritage of his trade.

The retail unit was to be positioned in a key location within the central route through the designer outlet with great footfall. The design of the space represented the positioning with a look and feel of a victorian industrial workshop. We used reclaimed timber, rusty steel work and leather to achieve this. We created a central work station to showcase the craftsmanship.
