Once upon a time…



A design agency, an events operator and a shopping centre created the greatest Christmas adventure of all time – 
The Christmas Chronicles featuring The Santa Express.



Festive season 2023 was our first large scale Christmas event after the Covid era and we’re glad to say we came back with a bang!


Working with Crow Events, we strategised the customer journey, named, branded and created the event within an empty 20,000 sq ft retail unit at Meadowhall, Sheffield.



An immersive journey awaited visitors, creating memories to treasure on an enchanting adventure to meet Santa.



Through the giant storybook entrance, guests were greeted by Nanny and Professor in The Attic, a dimly lit welcome area with fairy lit Christmas trees, antique wooden desks, leather Chesterfield sofas, wood panelled walls and bookcases.



The Magical Lion and his woodland friends guided guests through a secret doorway and a lantern lit snowy path, transporting them to the Winter Forest – a frozen land filled with the sights, sounds and smells of a snow covered ice kingdom. Decorated with snowy Christmas trees, icy blue fairy lights, icicles and a wicked Snow Queen who had cursed the forest with an eternal winter.



The children were asked to help the Magical Lion with Christmas cheer and goodwill to defeat the Snow Queen and lift the spell, 
thankfully they were glad to help.



Once defeated, everyone boarded the Santa Express to tell Santa and his elves the good news.
 An illuminated outdoor train ride took guests along the twists and turns of the Winter Forest.

A winding festoon lit path through 400 snow covered Christmas trees with selfie stops along the way, giving the perfect festive photo opportunities.



On arrival at Santa’s workshop – Jingle Bell Hall, guests met with Santa, had a photo with him and were gifted with a certificate thanking them for their bravery.



After all the excitement guests could relax in The Christmas Kitchen with a selection of tasty treats or browse the selection of Christmas gifts available from the Elf Emporium gift shop. These areas were dressed brightly with red and green, fairy lit Christmas trees, giant candy canes, giant nutcrackers and comfy leather chesterfields.
